This Spring Break I did the most thorough spring cleaning that has ever taken place in this house. My typical spring cleaning involves...well, cleaning (imagine that?!). This year I am taking the added step of purging things, and it feels so good to de-clutter!
The scrapbook room is last on my list to de-clutter. The priority, for now, is Daisy's room. The girl simply has too much stuff! She has been doing two sports this spring (golf and track) and also has serious homework happening now that she is in 7th grade. I've decided some organization in her life is necessary, in order for her to keep up with her studies and extracurricular activities. After all, it is so much easier to function when you can actually locate items you need - without having to dig through tons of junk!
Daisy's room is also a little young for her and she is ready to transition into something more stylish (think "teen"). So, I'm gathering up the items she has outgrown and will be listing them for sale here. Expect to see lots and lots of clothes, because she outgrows them practically before she has a chance to wear them! We are going to redecorate her room, so room decor has got to go, too. Who knows what else I will list, but anything I come across during this de-cluttering phase is at risk for being sold.
First up, here is her bedspread:
Totally cute, right? It's a soft, minty-green color and is reversible. It's from Pottery Barn Kids and is a full/queen size. Here's a close-up so you can see the colors and pattern on each side:
Also selling the matching sheets. They are super-soft! Chamois fitted sheets. They are listed on Pottery Barn Kids, so you can get a general idea of how much I paid for them. (lol. $70 each for two fitted sheets and $20 each for two pillowcases - um, can you say "too much"?) Maybe you can get an idea of how soft they are in this photo:
Everything is in excellent condition or I wouldn't be selling it. She just wants a more teenager-ish look. She really wants this set, but it appears to be sold out.
Next up, we have a different quilt set she has from Pottery Barn. She layers this one on top of the other one in the winter time. This one is a patchwork quilt with pink and lots of other colors in it. I like all of the colors in it because that makes it easy to decorate around. ;) The little decorative pillow behind her collection of stufed animals also goes with the quilt.
Here is a detail shot (this one is also reversible):
And yes, btw, her room is bright orange. I don't know if I've ever mentioned that before on the blog, but I let her choose whatever color she wanted and that's the one she selected. The room literally GLOWS orange, but she loves it! She has a bright personality, so the color suits her.
Next up, I'm going to add clothes and shoes. She has plenty. Check back this weekend, because that's when I'll be adding them.
Oh, and if you're interested in anything, just email me! Click on "email me", which is just below my lovely mugshot on the blog. ;) Best offer wins! If you live in San Antonio, that's the ideal situation. You can just drop by and pick up your items. If not, you can pay for the shipping. :)
